Essential packing list to help for solo travelling
Here’s all you need to know about packing for your solo adventures.
Before we discuss the packing list, the biggest question seems to be should I bring a suitcase or a backpack?
Both are great in some situations and then in other situations both can be a pain. It all comes down to personal preference and what you would rather. Backpacks are easier in situations where there is stairs or long walks because you don’t have to drag a suitcase around. The typical size backpack would be between 50-80 litre
I opted for a backpack then I swapped it for a suitcase once I was done travelling and settled down.
This is the Backpack that I used. I had this backpack for 5 months which was a short time but it sure did its job while I had it. Perfect size!
You can get backpack’s on wheels as well, one of my friends had one of those and it seemed much easier as its a mix of both.
The Osprey 4 wheels.
If you do opt for a backpack over a suitcase. There are cheap and expensive ones. The one I got was cheap and my friends was Osprey 4 wheels, which is VERY expensive but if its in your budget then worth it.

Amazon will be your best friend
I found Amazon had almost everything I needed for my travels and it’s handy to get it all in one place. Some of the essentials:
Packing cubes make packing so much easier as everything is neat but also easy to access and it frees up space.
Microfibre towel’s roll up small which saves space, they dry fast and they are compact.
International travel adapter it might seem pricy but it’s good to have it all in one.
Medical kit handy to have JUST in case.
Bumbag, I found these the best rather than a handbag. You want to keep everything close to you.
Power bank, always good to have a power bank as backup.
Waterproof phone case, its not an essential but It was good, glad I packed it for beach days and the great barrier reef!
Staying in hostels you will need a good pair of Ear plugs.
A good Water bottle is an essential.
Less is more when travelling. Don’t buy new clothes often, save your money and shop at a charity shop. I don’t recommend bringing expensive items with you either. Things can get easily broken and you don’t have much privacy or places to store items.
